Semi-final in the Snow!!!

Our girl’s basketball team played the second leg of the league semi-final against Tiermohan N.S. yesterday. As they sang ‘Let it Go’ on the bus to the match, little did we know we could have literally been building snowmen by the end of the game!
Our girls battled hard as snow began to gently fall during the first half of the match and we were just one point behind going into the second half. We were unlucky at times as our shots just couldn’t seem to find the hoop. The girls fought bravely the whole way to the end but it was to be Tiermohan’s day.
We, the coaches are immensely proud of each and every one of our girls. They have played wonderfully throughout the league and it is a huge achievement to reach the semi-final stage. We have the blitz to look forward to in March and Kilberry Girls will make formidable opponents!!!

Boys Book Place in Basketball Final!!

Our boy’s basketball team secured a place in the Cumann na mBunscol basketball final today, defeating Rathcoffey N.S. This was an exciting game throughout and both teams were impressive on the day. Kilberry got the opening basket of the game, but Rathcoffey swiftly replied with two well-taken shots. However, Kilberry’s defense held strong and we responded with a wonderful basket to leave just a point between the teams at half time.
The scene was set for a thrilling second half and spectators were not disappointed as both teams pressed hard. Kilberry began to take control of the game in the closing few minutes and ran out deserving winners in the end.
There was an impressive display of talent and skill from both teams today and the boys are now looking forward to the final where they will meet Kilashee N.S.
