Communion Class of 2016

Congratulations to second class who made their First Holy Communion on the 15th May. Our school mass for the Communion children was celebrated on Wednesday by Fr. Hannon and was led by second class under the guidance of their class teacher, Mrs. Prendergast.

This was a wonderful occasion and a very special mass for the children, each of whom had a special job to do on the day.

Water Action Day 2016

Kilberry N.S. held their Water Action Day today to consolidate our efforts as a ‘Green School’ as we work towards our third green flag for water. Kilberry turned blue as all staff and pupils wore blue clothing for our action day.

Experiments on the theme of water were conducted in the school hall by members of the water committee and each class had an opportunity to see the experiments in action.

Following this, we had a ‘Walk for Water’ which saw each class walk 1km carrying 14 litres of water to raise awareness of the challenges facing men, women and children in developing countries as they walk up to 5miles every day in search of safe drinking water. Each family was asked to bring in 2 euro and as a result we are proud to announce that Kilberry are giving the ‘gift of water’ in conjunction with Trocaire to children in Africa.
